1st Annual Backyard BBQ Competition

1st Annual Backyard BBQ Competition as sponsored by R.A. Brewing, March 19 & 20.

Format is as follows:

• Two separate categories will be judged: Boston Butt and Ribs
• Blind judging will be done by a panel of at least 3 judges on both categories
• Winners will be recognized in both categories
• Grand Champion will be determined by highest combined score. In the event of a tie, highest score in Boston Butt wins.

Events are scheduled as follows:

• March 19, Friday night poker game at 8:00 pm
• March 20, Saturday morning - start cooking whenever, I'll be up
• March 20, Saturday 2:00 pm - Ribs turn in
• March 20, Saturday 5:00 pm - Boston Butt turn in
• March 20, Saturday 6:00 pm - Awards

I will most likely also be cooking a brisket. I will not be cooking chicken. Angie wil probably make some mac & cheese and I will make some beans.

If you haven't realized this yet, this is also the 1st weekend of the NCAA basketball tournament. Therefore, we can probably have a couple of friendly wagers on the games. It's also opening weekend of turkey season.

Let me know if you are interested in cooking, judging, eating, etc. I think six teams is about the maximum.
